The association "Uzcharmsanoat" held a meeting with representatives of the Trade Representation of Russia in Uzbekistan. During the dialogue, the main attention was paid to the further development of investment cooperation, the implementation of new projects.

 At the beginning of the meeting, the leadership of the Uzcharmsanoat Association informed the Russian side in detail about the government support for the leather and footwear industry in our country, the opportunities and benefits created for investors, industrial potential and raw material reserves.

 A number of organizational and practical issues of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in the leather and footwear and fur industry were discussed.

For reference: during 2022, the volume of exports of leather and footwear products from our country to the Russian Federation has increased dramatically. In particular, the share of high value-added goods (children's, men's, special shoes), leather goods, astrakhan fur, finished leather goods increased by 3.6 times compared to 2021.

 There was also an exchange of views on the development of economic relations between Russia and Uzbekistan, promotion of export projects, assistance in attracting investments and advanced technologies.

 Upon completion of the dialogue, an agreement was also reached with trade representatives of Russia to ensure the participation of companies from this country in leather and footwear exhibitions in Uzbekistan.
