A meeting was held with Je, Hyo-Sung, branch manager of the South Korean “Beomhan engineering” company, and Ki-Young-Jo, the professor of the Pukyong National University, in the “Uzcharmsanoat” association. The main topic of the meeting was the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries in the field of leather, footwear and fur, discussion of exporting finished products from our country to Korea, improvement of cleaning facilities of tanneries in Uzbekistan and the use of modern technologies.

It should be noted that “Beomhan engineering” was founded in 1995. The main business activities are the development of technologies for the rational use of water, environmental protection and treatment facilities, as well as their maintenance and quality control. The company has implemented more than 3000 projects in different countries of the world.

“Pukyong” National University is considered the most historical educational institution in South Korea. It was founded in 1924. Today, 170,000 specialists around the world have obtained the diploma of this university. Graduates of this educational institution are rated as first-class personnel in enterprises in the fields of geology, oceanography, IT, industrial technologies, and ecology.

In the meeting, the Korean guests noted that today in Uzbekistan, the sector of IT and industrial technologies are rapidly developing, and for this reason, state investors with the largest economy in Asia are rushing to our country.

Furthermore, the representatives of “Beomhan engineering” made their suggestions regarding the modernization of cleaning facilities in the Uzbek tanneries and the introduction of Korean technologies. Also, an initiative to implement joint projects in this direction was expressed. The project provides for the rational use of Ecology and Water Resources. This, in turn, is important for leather-shoes factories.

During the conversation the association presented detailed information about the reforms implemented in our country. In particular, information was given about the production potential of the leather-shoe industry, investment environment, and export indicators. The system of privileges and preferences granted to foreign investors was explained.

“Pukyong” National University has made initiatives regarding development of a separate road map for the improvement of the skills of teachers and the supply of qualified specialists for industrial enterprises on the basis of joint educational programs.

The “Uzcharmsanoat” association announced its support for the expressed proposals and initiatives. The practical and organizational aspects of the upcoming tasks for the effective implementation of these projects were discussed. In particular, a memorandum of cooperation will be signed between “Uzcharmsanoat” association and “Pukyong” National University within the framework of the “International Fur and Leather Expo” exhibition in March 27-29 of this year in South Korea.

With this document, specialists of the Association's member enterprises will have the opportunity to improve their skills in South Korea. They increase their knowledge in the areas of ecology, industrial technologies, design, and marketing.
