During the official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, preliminary agreements were reached on the implementation of 2 investment projects worth $15 million in the leather and footwear industry. One of these projects will be implemented with Al-Rowad.

In particular, during a meeting with the heads of leading companies of this country on the sidelines of the visit, Abdel Rahman El-Gabbas, General Director of Al-Rowad, presented his leather processing project in Uzbekistan to the head of our state.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev supported this initiative and instructed the responsible persons to implement the large-scale project as soon as possible.

At present, the head of the company with a delegation is on a working visit to Uzbekistan. Practical aspects of the implementation of the new project were discussed at a meeting with representatives of the Egyptian company Al-Rowad at the Uzcharmsanoat association.

During the negotiations, detailed information was provided on the production potential of the leather industry of our country, the investment environment, export opportunities and the raw material base.

The guests were also told about customs and tax benefits, transport and logistics routes offered to foreign investors investing in the industry.

It should be noted that the total cost of this investment project is $10 million. In order to select land plots for the implementation of the project, representatives of company will visit Tashkent, Syrdarya and Samarkand regions.

At the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the production capacities for the production of semi-finished and finished leather, export indicators. They shared the opinions on further areas of cooperation and the achievement of new points of growth.
